Day 1: Arriving in Lisbon

Lisbon Districts

I left from Fargo, ND Friday, May 17th, to Minneapolis-St.Paul with friends for the weekend. On Monday, May 20, I went to the airport catch my flight to Toronto, Canada. I hopped on a connecting flight from Toronto to Lisbon, where I arrived the next morning, Tuesday, May 21. I highly recommend bringing some sort of sleep aid as my melatonin had my sleeping through most of the flight. I then quickly freshened up in a restroom and made my way from the airport to my hostel, HUB New Lisbon, which had a ballpit!

After getting settled in the hostel and playing in the ballpit, I took a tram to Castelo de Sao Jorge, which is the highest point in Lisbon. I spent several hours exploring the castle, and if I ever return, I will try to get the guided tour. After the castle, I made my way back down to the terrace garden viewpoint known as Miradouro de Santa Luzia for dinner where I ate Bacalhau a bras (shredded codfish with egg and onion...super yummy!).
