The next day Sunday, May 26, I checked out of my hostel and boarded a train to Guimaraes. I was originally planning to see both Braga and Guimaraes today but I decided to cut out Braga in favor of seeing more of Guimaraes where my hostel was. Once there, I got lunch at Joaquim Antonio Pereira where I ordered the Penne A L'Arrabiate (penne pasta, tomato sauce, green peper, onion, and spicy Portuguese sausage).

After lunch, I walked up to the Castelo de Guimaraes, and toured the Paco dos Duques de Bragance, which was pretty cool. I then went to the Teleferico to ride the rail car up the mountain, but I discovered that I left my phone at the hostel so I turned back. I hung out at the hostel to recharge my phone and then headed back out to try the railcar to the castelo on the mountain, but I missed the last car by a few minutes.

I wandered back to the hostel and stopped for dinner at Buxe, where I ordered grilled salmon with cheese and a lemon tart dessert. I also want to note that I am getting pretty good at a few Portuguese phrases. I returned to the hostel and washed some clothes in the sink and went to bed.
